Started in 2023, BoomPop leverages AI to help companies plan and manage events end-to-end, from venue and vendor sourcing to room blocks, contracts, and payments. BoomPop has supported events for approximately 250,000 people at companies including Accenture, Amazon, Google, Salesforce, and Shopify. BoomPop estimates that it has helped its customers reduce costs by approximately 30% on average on bookings in connection with events ranging from 15-person gatherings to conferences with thousands.
The acquisition builds on the successful partnership announced earlier this year, and is intended to further expand the opportunity to grow Navan’s presence in meetings and events, where the majority of spend occurs outside of managed channels.
“We believe that in-person connections drive business forward. But bringing teams together often requires juggling emails, spreadsheets, vendors, and disconnected tools,” said Michael Sindicich, President of Navan. “Our customers crave the same transparency and value in their meetings and events that we bring to the rest of their travel programs. Fully integrating BoomPop’s team and technology into Navan will help us scale our existing meetings and events business, accelerate our roadmap, and meet growing customer demand for more connected experiences across travel, expense, meetings, and events.”
“We built BoomPop to make work functions less work, and our partnership with Navan showed us how much bigger that idea gets when travel and events live together,” said Healey Cypher, BoomPop Co-Founder and CEO. “Our customers saw the value of our combined offering immediately and we’re just getting started. Joining forces means every company gets one partner for the whole thing, from a ten-person offsite to a 500-person global sales kickoff.”
This transaction is expected to have no material impact on Navan’s previously issued guidance. Navan will draw on its experience integrating other companies, including Reed & Mackay, Comtravo, Tripeur, and most recently, Smartrips, to ensure a seamless experience for customers.
