Blue Star Mothers of America Announces 2026–2027 National Executive Board

New national leadership begins a year of service while inviting military mothers nationwide to connect, serve, and strengthen the mission.

WASHINGTON, DC, UNITED STATES, August 27, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Blue Star Mothers of America, Inc. (BSMA), a congressionally chartered veterans service organization, is proud to announce its newly elected National Executive Board for the 2026–2027 fiscal year, which runs from September 1, 2026, through August 31, 2027.

The newly elected officers are National President Karen Stillwell, National First Vice President Sonya Stowers, National Second Vice President Beth Bruening, National Third Vice President Amy Jo Hutchinson, National Fourth Vice President Connie Shuck, National Recording Secretary Leslie Majocka, National Financial Secretary Jacqueline Ransom, and National Treasurer Carrie Beck.

These leaders will guide Blue Star Mothers of America through another year of service, advocacy, fellowship, and support for military families, active duty service members, veterans, and communities throughout the nation.

For generations, Blue Star Mothers have understood the unique mixture of pride, uncertainty, sacrifice, and strength that comes with having a child serve in the United States Armed Forces.

Blue Star Mothers of America provides military mothers with a place to connect with others who understand that journey while giving them meaningful opportunities to continue serving alongside their sons and daughters.

Across the country, Blue Star Mothers support active duty service members through care packages and outreach, assist veterans and veterans facilities, participate in patriotic and remembrance programs, support military families, volunteer within their communities, and honor those who have served and sacrificed.

The organization also creates something that can be difficult to find elsewhere: a community of mothers who understand what it means to watch a child raise their right hand and serve our nation.

Who Can Join Blue Star Mothers of America?

Membership in Blue Star Mothers of America is open to eligible mothers, stepmothers, adoptive mothers, foster mothers, grandmothers, and legal guardians of individuals who are serving or have served honorably in the United States Armed Forces, including the National Guard and Reserves.

A mother’s connection to Blue Star Mothers does not end simply because her son or daughter completes military service. The experiences and understanding gained throughout the military journey can become a source of encouragement and support for another mother just beginning hers.

Once a Blue Star Mother, always a Blue Star Mother.

Those who support the mission but do not qualify as Blue Star Mothers may also have opportunities to become involved as Associate Members, helping chapters carry out programs and service projects in their communities.

Why Membership Matters

Military service affects more than the individual wearing the uniform. Behind every service member is a family experiencing milestones, deployments, separations, homecomings, transitions, and sometimes tremendous sacrifice.

Blue Star Mothers provides a connection between those families.

A mother navigating her child’s first deployment can sit beside a mother who has experienced several. A mother whose child has recently enlisted can find encouragement from someone who remembers those first uncertain days. Mothers of veterans can continue serving while sharing years of experience with the next generation of military families.
