Trimlite Equity, L.P. (“Trimlite” or the “Company”), a value-added distributor of residential doors and door products, and a portfolio company of Wynnchurch Capital, L.P. (“Wynnchurch”), today announced the acquisition of Barnett Millworks (“Barnett”), a leading distributor of residential door products serving customers throughout the Southeast and Gulf Coast. The acquisition expands Trimlite’s geographic footprint and strengthens its ability to serve customers across North America.
Founded in 1945 and headquartered in Theodore, Alabama, Barnett is a valued-added distributor of residential doors and millwork products. For more than 80 years, the company has built a reputation for high-quality products, exceptional customer service, and long-standing customer relationships throughout the Southeast and Gulf Coast. Prior to the acquisition, the business was family-owned and operated by three generations of the Barnett family, whose roots in the millwork industry date back to the 1930s.
The acquisition further strengthens Trimlite’s position as a value-added distributor of residential doors and related products. Barnett’s complementary geographic footprint, customer relationships, and value-added capabilities enhance Trimlite’s platform while expanding its presence in some of the fastest-growing residential construction markets in the United States.
Patrick Hooper, President and CEO of Trimlite, said, “Barnett Millworks has built an exceptional business over the past eight decades and earned the trust of customers across the Southeast through its longstanding commitment to quality and service. Their culture, values, and customer-first approach align closely with Trimlite. We’re excited to welcome the Barnett team and invest in the continued growth of the business while expanding our ability to serve customers across North America.”
Paul Barnett, President and CEO of Barnett Millworks, said, “Our family has had the privilege of serving customers for more than 80 years, and we are incredibly proud of what our employees have built together. Choosing the right partner was about preserving our culture, creating opportunities for our employees, and ensuring our customers continue to receive the exceptional service they’ve come to expect. We found that partner in Trimlite, and we’re excited for the future.”
Brian Crumbaugh, Partner at Wynnchurch, said, “Barnett is an outstanding business with a differentiated market position, a loyal customer base, and a talented management team. The acquisition aligns with our strategy of supporting Trimlite’s continued growth through investments that expand its geographic reach and enhance its product offerings. We look forward to partnering with the Trimlite and Barnett teams as they continue building a differentiated residential door platform across North America.”
The acquisition of Barnett represents Trimlite’s fourth acquisition since partnering with Wynnchurch and its second acquisition completed in 2026, following the acquisition of Harris Door and Millwork in March. The acquisition reflects Trimlite’s strategy of expanding its geographic reach, enhancing customer service capabilities, and building the premier value-added residential door distribution platform in North America.
