Kickoff just got a whole lot more meaningful. Live Love Liv, a new Colorado giving program, is sending children and young adults with cancer, and those who have survived it, to their very first Denver Broncos game.
The Live Love Liv First Game Experience gives each eligible participant two tickets, parking and a game-day food gift card. It is open to Coloradans ages 6 to 26 who currently have cancer or are cancer survivors and have never attended a Broncos game. The first family has already enjoyed the experience, and it went incredibly well. The tickets were donated by OG Health, and Project Sol Flower helped connect the program with its first participant.
The program honors Olivia “Liv” Grenardo, a Colorado native and young adult cancer survivor who passed away unexpectedly at age 26. Giving was one of Liv’s favorite ways to show love, and the idea was inspired by the time she gave a childhood friend the chance to attend his first Broncos game. A small team came together to bring the program to life in her memory.
“Liv showed love through giving, and she loved handing someone an experience they’d never forget,” said Ozzie Grenardo, MD, Liv’s father and a practicing physician in the Denver area. “If we can give a young person who has been through so much a great day at the stadium, then we’re spreading the love the way she would have wanted.”
All game-day experiences for this Broncos season are now filled, and Live Love Liv is not currently accepting new applications. Families and organizations interested in future seasons are encouraged to check back. Live Love Liv currently operates through a donor-advised fund at Colorado Gives Foundation while it completes the process of establishing its own 501(c)(3).
