Free event lands on the campus of a historic Dallas HBCU, connecting students to on-the-spot acceptances and scholarships
DALLAS, TX, UNITED STATES, October 14, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — National College Resources Foundation (NCRF) will host its 9th Annual Dallas Black College Expo™, presented by Fifth Third Bank, on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Paul Quinn College, 3837 Simpson Stuart Road, Dallas, TX 75241. This free event brings together students, families, colleges and community organizations for a day focused on the present HBCU Impact on our nation and expanding access to higher education— hosted on the campus of the only Historically Black College & University in Dallas, Paul Quinn College.
The Dallas Black College Expo™ will connect students with more than 50 colleges, including Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), along with certificate programs and trade schools, while providing access to scholarships, career resources and opportunities for students to take meaningful next steps toward higher education. The Expo is open to high school juniors and seniors, college transfer students, adult learners and their families.
This year’s Expo comes at an especially timely moment: it falls during Texas Free College Application Week, October 12–18, a statewide initiative that allows Texas residents to apply to undergraduate programs at public colleges and universities through ApplyTexas without paying an application fee. For students already thinking about where they want to attend college, the Dallas Black College Expo™ offers an opportunity to go even further. Some participating institutions will provide on-the-spot admissions, application fee waivers and scholarships, allowing students to meet directly with college representatives and walk away with a college acceptance and a possible scholarship that same day.
“There’s something powerful about bringing this Expo to a Dallas only HBCU campus! Students don’t just hear about the HBCU experience, they can feel it the moment they walk through the gates,” said Dr. Theresa Price, Founder/CEO, National College Resources Foundation. “With Fifth Third Bank commitment to HBCUs and the rich history and legacy of HBCUs, students and families will also experience the rich culture of HBCUs. In addition, students will get accepted on the spot and possible full ride scholarships if they qualify.”
High school seniors and juniors interested in on-the-spot admission and scholarship opportunities are encouraged to bring multiple copies of their transcripts and ACT or SAT scores. College transfer students should bring transcripts from each college they have attended.
The Expo also features interactive seminars including “How To Find Money for College”, “Money Making Careers”, “411 For the Student Athlete”, “How to Think and Grow Rich”, and special celebrity-led seminars “How to Get A’s in English” with with Hip-Hop Legend Yo-Yo and “From Dreams 2 Realities” with Actor/Comedian London Brown (Raising Kanan/Ballers). The day will wrap up with a scholarship presentation, entertainment, and cash prizes.
The 9th Annual Dallas Black College Expo™ is presented by Fifth Third Bank, with generous support from other NCRF sponsors including America’s Navy, Foundation Clothing, Casualty Actuarial Society, and Columbia College of Chicago.
Black College Expo™ is open to the public and welcomes students and families of all backgrounds and ages. For more information, please visit https://www.thecollegeexpo.org/ncrf-events/events or call 877-427-4100.
