COLLEGE STATION, TX, UNITED STATES, August 27, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Capital Farm Credit’s Interim Chief Financial Officer Javier (Javi) Lemus has been named executive vice president and CFO, effective Sept. 1.
Lemus was named interim CFO following the passing of Sally Lawson, who served the Farm Credit System for 16 years. He was selected following a comprehensive search process that included several outstanding candidates.
Previously serving as senior vice president and controller, Lemus has over 20 years of financial and accounting experience and is a certified public accountant (CPA), licensed in the state of Texas.
“Throughout the process, Javi consistently distinguished himself through his strong financial expertise and deep understanding of the CFO role,” said Jeff Norte, CFC president and CEO. “He has excelled in the interim CFO role, providing steady leadership, maintaining continuity during a period of transition, and demonstrating his ability to effectively lead the Finance Division.”
Lemus said he is excited to continue working with the executive management team and help advance CFC’s mission of providing reliable, consistent credit and financial services to rural Texans.
“It’s an honor to be selected as the next CFO at Capital Farm Credit,” Lemus said. “Sally was an exceptional mentor whose guidance, support and trust helped in my professional development. I look forward to working with this incredible team to ensure CFC remains financially sound to continue supporting the success of agriculture and rural communities across Texas.”
Before joining CFC in 2018, Lemus spent 11 years at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in the assurance practice where he provided audit services to clients in various industries such as banking, asset management, broker dealers, employee benefit plans and healthcare.
He received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Texas at Austin and a master’s degree in accounting from Texas State University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Farm Credit System’s Accounting Standards workgroup and the Internal Controls over Financial Reporting workgroup.
