YMC America will be the First U.S.-Based Supplier of ASME U-Stamped DAC Columns

We’re bringing a critical part of drug manufacturing closer to the companies that rely on it – helping improve timelines, reliability, and critical U.S. supply chain resilience.”

DEVENS, MA, UNITED STATES, August 10, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — YMC America, Inc. has expanded its U.S. manufacturing and operations capabilities to supply ASME U-Stamped Dynamic Axial Compression (DAC) columns from its Devens, Massachusetts facilities, becoming the first known U.S. supplier of these systems for peptide, oligonucleotide, and small-molecule active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) production.

YMC America’s ASME Certificate of Authorization confirms that its Devens facility meets the requirements of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code. As a result, DAC columns supplied through this facility are eligible to bear the ASME U-Stamp, providing customers with a domestically supported, code-compliant solution.

The expansion allows YMC America to supply DAC columns assembled, inspected, and pressure tested in the United States under its ASME-approved quality program. The company currently supports DAC columns with 300, 450, and 600 mm inner diameters, with 800 and 1,000 mm models planned for future availability.

“Achieving ASME U-Stamp certification for our Devens facility represents an important investment in our ability to serve customers across North America,” said Mark Dyment, CEO of YMC America. “We’re bringing a critical part of drug manufacturing closer to the companies that rely on it – helping improve timelines, reliability, and critical U.S. supply chain resilience.”

YMC America designs its DAC columns in accordance with ASME Section VIII, Division 1 requirements and operates under an active ASME Certificate of Authorization for U and R Stamp activities. Each column is assembled, inspected, and pressure tested at the Devens facility in compliance with ASME quality standards, with required documentation and National Board registration provided. All ASME-required quality and compliance activities are conducted within YMC America’s certified U.S. facility.

The company’s DAC columns support pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical customers from process development through commercial production. Systems are used in laboratory, pilot, and production-scale chromatography applications, including purification processes for peptides, oligonucleotides, and small-molecule APIs.

Dynamic Axial Compression columns use axial compression technology to maintain consistent pressure on the chromatography bed during operation, enabling reproducible packing performance and efficient media utilization.

Key features of YMC America DAC columns include:

– ASME U-Stamped DAC columns, available in 300, 450, and 600 mm inner diameters, with 800 and 1,000 mm models planned
– Self-packing design to simplify media replacement and reduce operating costs
– Axial compression technology for consistent column performance and reproducible packed beds
– Optional slurry container for automated hygienic packing procedures
– Support for IQ/OQ qualification and explosion-proof operation
